Job Description: The Seasonal Assistant to Medical Department is a full-time position, based out of our main office in Durango, beginning April 3, 2017 and ending on September 29, 2017. The schedule varies and is 35-40 hours per week during regular business hours, Monday through Friday. Responsibilities include supporting the Pharmaceutical Coordinator by running medical errands; organizing students’ medications; scanning; cleaning and restocking medical bags; providing support and coverage for the Psychiatric Assistant; and additional administrative support as assigned. This position reports to the Health Director.
Min. Requirements: High school diploma or GED; experience in a medical environment; QMAP certified or willing to be certified; meticulous and detail oriented; excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; calm in crisis situations; strong written and verbal communication skills; flexible; excellent time management and organizational skills; and basic computer skills. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical (unless you are an internal candidate).
Pay: Wage commensurate with experience. This position is seasonal and is not eligible for benefits.

Job Description: Open Sky Wilderness is seeking a full-time Clinical Therapist to join our innovative, holistic wilderness therapy program for young adults and adolescents based in Durango, CO. Responsibilities include: carrying a caseload of young adult clients; providing individual and group therapy; facilitating weekly phone calls with parents and referral sources; delivering clinical training to field guides; marketing, including attending national conferences; working 2 days in the field (1 overnight) and 2 days in the office.
Min. Requirements: Clinical Master’s, Ph.D., or Psy.D. (Focus in family systems preferred); licensed, or able to be licensed, in UT and CO; minimum of 3 years' clinical work with individual, group and family therapy with young adults; wilderness therapy experience; openness to mindfulness aspect of program; presentation skills; computer literate; excellent verbal communication and writing skills. Job Description: This is a full-time, year-round position. It involves providing Family Quests - intensive family therapy in the field 3 days/week (2 overnights) and parent coaching over the phone while not in the field. Primary responsibilities include facilitating Family Quests, offering weekly phone sessions with parents, and participating as a member of an integrated treatment team. Position reports directly to the Family Services Supervisor.
Min. requirements: PhD/Master’s therapist licensed or license-eligible in UT and CO; First Aid and CPR. Prior experience: clinical work with adolescents, young adults, and families. Strong preference for clinician with Family Systems background and prior wilderness experience. Must be open to research-based mindfulness aspect of program, computer literate, have excellent communication and writing skills, and have a passion for adolescent and family treatment. Job Description: Open Sky Wilderness is seeking a FT Health Director to join our innovative, holistic wilderness therapy program for young adults and adolescents based in Durango, CO. The schedule is Monday through Friday, requiring on call availability. Responsibilities include: establishing, communicating, overseeing, and leading department focus, priorities, vision, and direct supervisor of medical department personnel. Oversees the physical health of all Open Sky students, from application review to graduation, as well as the well-being of Open Sky’s staff; works with HR to ensure that all medical department personnel are in compliance with HR/licensing requirements and paperwork; collaborates with the Field Director, Operations Director, Program Director and Open Sky’s Leadership team concerning medical logistics and management. Actively supervises and supports the Field Medics as they attend to students in the field, this includes real time assessments related to medical issues; coaches and trains Field Medics in best practices related to medical response circumstances; assists Field Medics with the development and refining of policies, procedures and systems designed for medical response.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; eligible for licensure in both CO and UT as an NP, PA, RN, LPN or EMT; at least five years’ experience in medical environment, wilderness medicine and as a supervisor; experience working with adolescents and young adults struggling with difficult challenges and life circumstances, as well as emergency response; current CPR certification; current phlebotomy and IV certification; strong work ethic; positive attitude; organizational skills; comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and technologically savvy; communicates clearly and accurately both orally and in written format; works independently or as part of a team; has passion, compassion, energy and dedication to the field of Wilderness Therapy. Open Sky offers clinical internships averaging 12 months in length through our clinical and family services departments. We strive to provide clinical interns the opportunity for a comprehensive, well-rounded experience of our program. Specific opportunities may include working closely with a therapist in the field, with students, on phone calls with parents, supporting Wellness Weekends and facilitating Family Quests. Interns should be motivated, self-directed and prepared to work and overnight (1-2 nights/week) in a remote wilderness setting in Southern Colorado and Utah in all seasons and conditions. Job Description: Transport staff are responsible for welcoming, outfitting and driving students safely to and from our course areas. Company vehicles are used and transporters typically work in teams. This is a part-time position with a variable schedule; hours may vary between 15-40 hrs./wk., depending on enrollment numbers. Shifts are 8-12 hrs.

We are pleased to receive applications from highly qualified Field Guide candidates at any time during the year for these orientations.
Open Sky typically holds four Field Guide orientations each year, in: January, March, May, and September. Additional orientations are occasionally held due to increases in student enrollment. Candidates who are offered employment after successful completion of the orientation generally begin working in the field within 3 weeks.
